Photograph of Jim Morrison after performing at Madison Square Garden in New York City in January 1969. Jim Morrison was the lead singer and songwriter of popular psychedelic rock band The Doors in the 1960s and 70s. His poetic lyrics, distinctive voice, counter-cultural status, and the dramatic circumstances surrounding his early death have led to Morrison's immortalization as one of the most iconic and influential figures in rock music history.
