This painting titled “Face Expression” by artist Doni Kabo is part of a 7-part series that visualises the conflict that an artist faces when artistry becomes a commercial entity. The side effects of commercialisation that has in turn commercialized the soul and made it ‘common’ has also contributed to the erosion of its true potential. Through this painting Kabo seeks to highlight how artistry is no longer a proportional natural quality but has become a ground for public validation, complex story telling or simple abstraction. The sad but inevitable truth that artistry has succumbed to environmental, aesthetical and technical factors is also highlighted. A unique artwork; it is a one and only art piece hand painted by the artist using a collage of acrylic on canvas. “Face Expression” is exclusively available on Mayinart and will require framing for display. Note: The artwork may be a part of a series but in itself it is unlike any other.
