ONE OF ONLY TWO RECORDED COMPLETE SETS OF EBBA HOLM'S 107 WONDERFUL WOODCUT AND LINOCUT ILLUSTRATIONS FOR THE DIVINE COMEDY. The set includes the portrait of Dante, the general title, title + 36 prints for the Inferno, title + 33 prints for the Purgatorio, and title + 33 prints for the Paradiso. Each print signed and annotated by the artist in pencil.
Printed on extremely fine laid paper. Each print measures 45 x 28 cm. FINE AND BRIGHT, WITH NO DEFECTS. EBBA HOLM IS CONSIDERED THE MOST IMPORTANT FEMALE ILLUSTRATOR OF THE DIVINE COMEDY. Individual prints from this set are very scarce, and only two complete sets (including this one) are known--and the one I offer is the only one in perfect condition.
