"This piece seeks the creation of a mythical situation from the relationship between the elements that compose it. With it I postulate a possible encounter between nature and human, between the mystical legacy of our race and current practice to produce new materials, new forms and possibilities to join us with the world. The sculpture refers to the prevailing practice that human kind has to suppose an order to things. Thus, its existence is established from the manipulation of materials and the suggestion of its place in this piece. The coyote, a powerful animal in shamanic practice in North America, is a reference to cunning and intelligence. In this piece, the coyote has a position that refers to caution and the need to investigate; perching in front of the tower, investigating it with all his senses, as if in this way he could see his magic, as if he could see the being who created it. The materials that compose this piece refer to human culture and our ability to manipulate matter, in order to create new symbols in which our history is represented." - Gabriel Rico
