JIM DINE (1935- ) Jim Dine's artwork reflect his skill as a draftsman and his virtuosity as a painter. Frequently, these skills are combined, but more often he has chosen to separate them so that some prints dramatically display his linear techniques and others his power as a painter. A modern master of printmaking, Jim Dine has long combined Pop-informed imagery with a highly personal point of view. He has created objects which are privately symbolic such as his series of Hearts which refers to his wife Nancy, and his Bathrobe studies, for instance, are progressive self-portraits.
