Friedlaender first etched the plate in 1950 and printed a few proofs (see Schmucking 65). In 1965 he reworked the plate extensively and issued a few more proofs (like the one I offer here). Also in 1965 he used the same plate for an extremely rare exhibition poster ('Jonny [sic] Friedlaender in niedlichs bucherdienst eggert marz 1965'). He used the plate for another poster in 1968 (Schmucking 474).

Printed on extremely fine wove paper.
