Framed 96.5 x 121.9; Image 62.2 x 87.6; Groom with Hunter  2009 – original by John Ferneley Snr (1782 – 1860); Well observed and authentically rendered copy of a Leicestershire hunter with its groom originally by one of England’s best known horse artists. John E. Ferneley was an English painter who specialised in portraying sporting horses and hunting scenes. Although his rendition of horses was stylised, he is regarded as one of the great British equine artists, second perhaps only to George Stubbs.
