In 2017, JR created an installation in Death Valley, California of a black and white reproduction of the surrounding mountains. The image served as the cover of Arcade Fire's album Everything Now. The photos from this project are being shown and sold for the first time as unique artwork. This work consists of a steel frame including prints and structural annotations. Evoking the architectural plans of the project, this piece illustrates the artist's process: the superimposition of real photographs and renderings to achieve the desired final outdoor installation.
