Cryo is a series that explores a unique natural phenomenon that takes place at Abraham Lake in Alberta, Canada. The lake releases methane bubbles from the earth into the water, but this process is only visible during a specific and short period of time. In winter, when the temperature drops at -45 degrees Celsius and the lake freezes, the water surrounds, traps and suspends thousands of methane bubbles as ice sculptures. In his photographs, the artist wanted to capture the beauty of nature in transition, despite the harsh and isolating work conditions.;
