A boat sailing at speed. Dashing through the water on the home run. This is the Spirit of Mystery the replica of the Mount’s Bay lugger, Mystery which sailed from Newlyn to Australia in November, 1854 carrying 7 Cornishmen on a quest for gold and a new life.  The successful journey was completed in five months and the Mystery docked in Melbourne on the 9th March 1855.
The Spirit of Mystery was built for Pete Goss in 2008 and he repeated the journey with his crew leaving Newlyn in October. Over the months they encountered many hazards finally arriving in Melbourne in March 2009.
