Tropical forests provide a lot of important renewable resources that contribute to economic growth, but at the same time, cutting down vast expanses of trees to access these resources severely harm the environment and the ecosystems where the deforestation is being performed. The loss of trees and other vegetation, agricultural expansion, building of massive roads, factories, housing estates and infrastructure development has been the cause of climate change. This includes desertification, soil erosion, fewer crops, flooding, increased greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and a host of other problems for the indigenous people. It is time to raise our awareness, change our ways of living and do something to prevent the destruction of the world we live in.
