Such is their power of reconciliation that the Umuadas are often recognized by community members as the first juncture to which any grievances should be directed prior to seeking resolution, if necessary, from the traditional ruling council. The Umuada's often intervened whenever the norms of the village were violated, whether by man or woman, and they imposed sanctions on offenders. Umuada also weighs the power of finality in issues concerning women in the family, community and in conflicts where men are unable to settle them. ⠀; ⠀; Here, we see Kaitochukwu suffering from a classic case of unrequited love. What started off as a "maybe baby" has seen him being friend zoned by Whetu. He deliberates taking his issue to the Umu Ada... Umu Ada series ("The Council")
