The relationship between this type of performing artist and his doll intrigues me to no end. At times I feel that while it entertains the audience with almost a magical craft of voice modulation, the conversation goes much deeper. I felt that the artist's alter ego is made to come alive with this voice manipulation. In this painting, I have chosen the backdrop of a sleeping city at night time, perhaps after a show that the artist and his find solace in each other's company. Tired and hungry they discuss the test and tribulations of life, of their struggle and their dreams.
