The painting depicts one of each of my parents' hands. They have reached beyond themselves so often to aid and support me even as a middle-aged adult convalescing from my illness and surgeries a few years ago.; Their age group is the most vulnerable to COVID-19's lethal outcomes. Washing one's hands will help even in the smallest way to protect them and the most susceptible, and to protect everyone on the front lines.; The four panels represent the idea of water, two of which are the colors of the water at night (when things may seem more dire) and two of which capture the colors of the water in daylight (when things may seem more hopeful).
