This painting from Berlin is a big and bold statement from his Surrealist Explorations Collection. He contemplates new socio-political horizons in the context of effects in extinct societies. The radical changes of the new normal human landscape and where we are taken by what is happening all over the world. Is the world now larger or has it constricted to a more parochial place, will we accept the society as it evolves or will we rebel. These questions run deeply through our understanding as we struggle to adjust. Berlin is aware of these struggles and tries to bring them to life and debate within his work. As he says “it calls for a high intellect and a probing mind to appreciate the intricacies and a whole lifetime to fathom the metaphysical manifestations”.
