Upcoming Auctions: Nov 9 – 15

When it comes to auctions, it’s a great opportunity to enter the magical world of art. Works on sales are by some of the biggest stars in contemporary and urban art and the price range is wild! There’s always something for everyone, and the following week is a true example of this. Two of the biggest auction houses, Sotheby’s and Christie’s are hosting auctions on 11th and 12th of November and the list of artists is crazy – Ai Weiwei’s sculpture He Xie with an estimated €479,280 – 639,040 is only one of the fantastic pieces; Untitled by Jean-Michel Basquiat is another one (est. €4,792,800 – 6,390,400). Seated Figure by Francis Bacon is the highlight of the Christie’s in New York sale estimated with the astonishing €31,952,000 – 47,928,000, while at Sotheby’s highlight is on Keith Haring’s Untitled (€1,997,000 – 2,795,800). Other works that will get the chance to reach high prices are Banksy’s Rage, Flower Thrower estimated with only €100 – 200, J’ai quelque chose à dire by BEN (€400 – 600), Green On Green Collage Painting by George Condo (239,640 – 399,400) and Damien Hirst’s Psalm Print : Ad Te, Domine, Levavi (€5,000 – 6,000).
