Alias of Jasmina Sevic, a researcher and author for Widewalls. She graduated from the Faculty of Political Science (Department for Journalism) in Belgrade in 2013.

Annie Carpenter is a British Contemporary artist who explores themes of trying, failing and industry through sculpture, video, curating, and writing. Her work revolves around the links between science and the labor of artists, through the exposure of the process of “working”. She is currently researching into the labor of hobbyist engineers and amateur astronomers, and how this labor can be shifted and aestheticized into the realm of art.

Since graduating with a BA in Fine Art from Leeds University in 2009, Carpenter has since gone on to exhibit extensively both in the UK and internationally. In 2013 she received a MA in Fine Art from Manchester School of Art, and was selected for the Axisweb MAstars feature by Paulette Terry Brien. Throughout 2012/13 she curated the Rogue Project Space alongside Taneesha Ahmed, with the exhibition program Free Failing. In 2013 she was awarded a residency at I-Park Foundation, Connecticut, USA and in October 2015 she is due to set sail with the Arctic Circle art & science expedition residency around the international territory of Svalbard in the Arctic. Carpenter is currently a tutor at Manchester School of art, and is also studying towards a BSc in Natural Sciences with the Open University, with astronomy and planetary science being the main focus.

Annie Carpenter is currently based at Rogue Studios in Manchester.
