Le Vuong is a Vietnamese artist, specialized in still-life paintings.

He was born in 1952 in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly named Saigon, and graduated from the Gia Dinh National Fine Art College with a Master degree in 1977. His primary medium is oil on canvas.

Le Vuong’s focus is on still life of everyday Vietnamese objects. Whether it is the folds of a plain tablecloth or the everyday terracotta teapot, Le Vuong depicts the most minuscule details of these objects, attempting to show its integrity and bring forth its beauty that is often forgotten. His paintings of still life objects are executed with meticulous detail, lending the works an almost photo-realistic quality.  Le Vuong is a master of captivating the light and ephemeral and temporary details. His paintings can be termed minimalist, as he removes all unnecessary objects from his compositions.

During his career, he has participated in several exhibitions in Vietnam, and also in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, France and the United States. Le Vuong’s works are on permanent display at the Fine Arts Museum in Ho Chi Minh City and his paintings are held in private collections throughout Asia, Europe and North America. His works are regularly sold at international auctions.

Le Vuong works as a professor at the Gia Dinh National Fine Art College, and lives in Ho Chi Minh City.
