Street Art’s Finest
Taking place over the President’s Day Weekend, Third Annual Street & Urban Art Exhibition and Auction located in Miami will culminate on Monday, February 16th, with an auction sale benefitting the Arts and Business Council of Miami and the Guntram von Habsburg Foundation. Home to some of the best street art in the world (which you were able to witness in our special edition of Street Update from Wynwood), Wynwood is an inviting arena for both local and international street artists to express their creativity and add to the growing landscape of the area. The FAAM Urban Art Week brings together an outstanding lineup of local and international street artists, including award-winning performing artist Chris Brown aka Konfuzed in collaboration with Kai and The London Police; C&R: Christian Volckman and Raphael Thierry; Federico Massa a.k.a. IENA CRUZ; Abstrk; Quake; Arive; Michael “Xeno” langebeck; Hox; Luis Berros; Astre 74; and Jose Mertz.
With the preview starting Thursday, February 12th and lasting until Saturday, February 14th from 3pm to 8pm, the event will have its culmination on Monday, February 16th when the auction will take place, including works by some of the biggest names in urban art today. Some of the auction highlights include a 2000 Banksy piece London, New York, Bristol (est. $100,000 – $120,000), as well as Untitled, Subway drawing by Keith Haring. Topping the list are also Shepard Fairey’s Chinese Soldiers (est. $50,000 – $60,000), Skull Painting by KAWS (est. $15,000 – $20,000), Ron English’s Spongebob Grin (est. $15,000 – $25,000), Untitled by Phase 2 (est. $12,000 – $15,000), as well as another Banksy piece entitled Morons (est. $8,000 – $12,000).
