In Focus Next Week: June 15 - 21
Summer is practically here and the spring art rush is coming to an end, but not without the final, European art market bang. All eyes are on the original Art Basel art fair in the week to come, as well as on its satellite events, expecting much from the last boom before everyone vacates. Happening in Switzerland, it’s hard to expect anything less than perfect in this season closing. As another announcement of sorts, this time for the summer season of outdoor painting combined with the sun and the sea we look forward to the next POW WOW Festival incarnation, this time in Long Beach with a usually exciting artist line-up. Murals are coming to announce more murals emerging in July and August. Most of the exhibitions and galleries are entering the slow phase, anxiously awaiting the recuperation time. So, dive in once more into the sea of art, before you experience it in a more literal sense.

Talepasand is joined by Travis Somerville, whose mixed-media sobering critique of post-Racial America electrified VOLTA NY 2015, and new shaped paintings by Leslie Smith III, prominent in Black in the Abstract at Contemporary Art Museum Houston last year…
