The fall season has begun and a number of great art fairs will take place in the months to come. The art fair calendar we are presenting in this article remind us how important these events are – fairs represent an extraordinary forums for establishing crucial contacts between galleries, collectors, artists, curators and art experts. PHOTOFAIRS Shanghai - Asia and Contemporary Photography

Asian collectors of photography have a great opportunity to purchase remarkable pieces of this medium during the PHOTOFAIRS Shanghai 2016. Taking place from Sept 9 through 11, 2016, the art fair will bring together world’s most renowned photographers and top quality prints in a remarkable showcase courtesy of 50 leading galleries from 15 countries. This is the third edition of the art fair.

Berliner Liste 2016 - Berlin's Biggest Art Fair

The Largest art fair in Berlin – Berliner Liste 2016 – will take place from Sept 15 until 18, 2016. The fair is bringing together 112 exhibitors from 25 countries and hundreds of aspiring painters, illustrators, muralists, sculptors and photographers. The Berliner Liste’s main mission is to showcase affordable contemporary artworks and to unite galleries and creators.

Vienna Contemporary 2016 - The Second Edition of Vienna's Main Fair

The second edition of the viennacontemporary 2016 fair will take place from September 22 through 25, 2016. With more than 100 galleries from 25 countries, this year’s edition of viennacontemporary explores Nordic Highlights and contemporary art from ex-Yugoslavia and Albania.

Moniker Art Fair - Promoting Urban Culture

With rich and extensive supporting program, Moniker Art Fair returns to the iconic Old Truman Brewery in east London’s Shoreditch. Promoting urban culture for 7 years now, Moniker Art Fair 2016 will bring together 22 exhibitors from around the globe. The art fair will take place from October 6 until October 9, 2016.

Frieze - One of the Most Highly Anticipated Contemporary Art Fairs

One of the world’s leading art fairs – Frieze London will take place between October 6 and October 9, 2016 in London’s Regents Park. Frieze London features more than 160 of the world’s leading galleries. Frieze London 2016 will be showing artworks from practically all the big names of contemporary art, while at the same time, fostering a community of the more interesting emerging galleries in the Focus area of the Fair.

8e Avenue Art Show - Parisian Art Week Event

One of the most dynamic events during the Parisian art week this fall will be 8e Avenue Art Show. It returns on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées for its second edition. This new contemporary art show is the very first art show that covers both contemporary art and urban culture in Paris. 8e Avenue art fair will start on October 20 and last until October 24, 2016.

YIA Art Fair Paris - Youth International Artists Show

Founded in 2010, YIA (Youth International Artists) will host its sixth edition from October 20 until October 23 in Paris. YIA Art Fair Paris 2016 will bring together 65 international galleries that will present more than 200 artists. The visitors will have a perfect opportunity to see artworks made by emerging and mid-career artists, and by those who managed to make a breakthrough on international stage.

FIAC 2016 - 43rd Edition of One of the Most Renowned Art Fairs in the World

Next on the calendar is an art fair which takes place in Paris, France – it’s The Foire Internationale d’Art Contemporain (International Contemporary Art Fair), or simply FIAC 2016. The art fair will run from October 23 through October 26, 2016. Celebrating its 43rd edition, FIAC will host 187 at the Grand Palais alone. This year, the art fair also expands its reach with an ambitious sister event: FIAC Hors Les Murs (‘beyond the walls’, i.e. in locations outside the Grand Palais itself).

ART.FAIR Cologne - Combining Established and Emerging Artists

This year, ART.FAIR Cologne celebrates its 14th edition. It will open on October 27 and will run until October 30, 2016. Since its first edition in 2003, ART.FAIR Cologne successfully combines the established with the new: top positions await the fair’s visitors. At the same time, visitors can discover promising, young artists at an early stage.

Art Toronto 2016 - 17th Edition of Canada's Main Art Fair

Canada’s main fair for modern and contemporary art – Art Toronto 2016 will run from October 28 through October 31, 2016. Now in its 17th year, Art Toronto presents important artworks from leading Canadian and international galleries combined with PLATFORM, its engaging series of lectures and panel discussions from prominent art world figures, curated projects.

Artissima - Italy's Biggest Art Fair

Last years, Widewalls team was conducting live coverage of Artissima art fair. This year, this Turin art fair, widely celebrated as Italy’s biggest fair, brings together 194 galleries from 35 countries. Artissima 2016 will also gather over 50 curators and museums directors. The art fair is composed of three art sections, headed by a board of international curators and museum directors, devoted to emerging artists, performances and rediscovering the great pioneers of contemporary art. The fair opens on November 4 and lasts until November 6, 2016.

Paris Photo - Celebration of Photography

Last year, one of the world’s leading art fairs for contemporary photography was closed down earlier due to horrific terrorist attacks in Paris occurred on November 13, 2015. This year, the art fair celebrates the 20th edition bringing together over 170 of the world’s leading galleries and art book dealers. Visitors will have an opportunity to see the largest panorama of exceptional photographic works from unique vintage pieces and modern masters to contemporary creations from across the globe. Paris Photo 2016 will run from November 10 through November 13, 2016.
