As we reach the peak of the fall season, the time has come to take a look what are the galleries Widewalls readers loved during the month of October. We had dozens of amazing exhibitions openings in October, and it is difficult even to try to mention only one or two, since almost all of them were simply amazing. Apart from great exhibitions galleries organized, we had a number of art fairs this month. Many galleries we are covering participated at these art fairs, presenting their artists and artworks. All in all, it was a great month.
As usual, many of our readers came on our website to check out what art events are being organized in all those great galleries whose work we are covering. So, we are presenting you 10 galleries that were most visited at Widewalls in October.
The first gallery on our list is Ministry of Walls. As in September, the profile of this amazing gallery on our website had the biggest number of visitors. We recently wrote about perfect freaky artworks for the Halloween, and we mentioned D*Face screen print Cli-Che that was found at Ministry of Walls. Based in Cologne and Miami, this gallery is interested in street art and in Pop Art as well.
BC Gallery Berlin was on the list of the most popular galleries in September, and now it’s here again. It was an exciting October in the gallery, since it organized an amazing exhibition of Daniel Dalopo. Entitled Animal Instinct, the exhibition features artist’s latest works on canvas and paper, and will be on view until November 9, 2015. Founded in 2013, by Nick Bargezi, a sound designer and art collector from Basel, Switzerland and managed by Phillipp Bart, BC Gallery is one of the galleries in Berlin you should definitely visit.
30works Gallery from Cologne is almost always on our list of the most visited galleries’ profiles on Widewalls. It’s not surprising, since this gallery always has a great program. In October, a great show opened at the gallery, entitled Pure Pop Art. To pay tribute to this rather saturated art movement, there are seven international artists whose works could also be viewed as a symbiosis with other visual concepts, such as geometric patterns and Op Art. The show will be on view until November 28.
Hang-up Gallery from London is once again on the list of the most popular galleries on Widewalls. This amazing gallery was formed in 2008 as an online gallery, launching as a street art website specializing in highly collectible and sought after limited edition prints and has now grown to become Europe’s leading online urban art gallery. In 2015, the team at Hang-Up Gallery took the decision to open a dedicated space housing a revolving collection of Banksy artworks.
Urban Spree Berlin is certainly one of the most interesting art spaces in Germany’s capital city. The gallery always has something interesting to offer. The gallery defends an artistic grassroots approach, directed towards cities, street & graffiti artists, photographers and contemporary artists. In October, the gallery saw the opening of a great exhibition entitled Magic Life. It welcomed nine contemporary urban artists. The exhibition will be on view until November 27.
Robert Fontaine Gallery from Miami is one of the most interesting galleries in the vibrant city of Miami. Founded in 2008, the gallery provides a platform for emerging, mid-career, established and master artists ranging in historical scope from the origins of Post War to the most current evolutions of digital media, conceptual installation and urban interventionist.
OPEN WALLS Gallery Berlin is one of the most important galleries in Berlin that focuses on public art. For all those who still did not notice – the gallery changed the address, and now you can find it at Schröderstr. 11/1, 10115 Berlin, Germany. OPEN WALLS is preparing for the opening of exhibition of amazing street artist SP38, celebrating 20 years of his time spent living, working and creating in the city of Berlin. Entitled Vive SP38!, the opening is scheduled for November 7, 2015.
Spoke Art Gallery is located in San Francisco’s Lower Nob Hill neighborhood. This amazing art space is specialized in new contemporary painting, sculpture and illustration. The gallery’s rotating monthly exhibits feature a wide variety of solo and group shows, many of which feature the gallery’s international roster of represented artists.
44309 Street Art Gallery is one of the leading urban galleries in Germany. The gallery focuses on urban contemporary like street art, graffiti, urban art, contemporary art. Some of the big names that are represented by the gallery are MadC aka Claudia Walde, Alice aka Alice Pasquini, Belin, Mark Gmehling, Reso and Telmo & Miel. Recently, it participated at Moniker Art Fair 2015.
Reed Projects Gallery is located in Stavanger. The project space has been established as a way to utilize the networks created through the development of the Nuart Festival and other public art projects. The space aims to nurture young regional and national talent whilst at the same time hosting and producing exhibitions and public art projects from some of the world’s leading street and contemporary artists.
