10 Intriguing Booths at X Contemporary Miami Art Fair

November 29, 2015

A brand new art fair within the spectacular program of the Miami Art Week 2015, X Contemporary Miami will present its comprehensive list of events and participants definitely worth seeing. Taking place in the city’s versatile and artistic Wynwood district, the fair will host about thirty selected galleries and organizations from the US, Europe and South America, all eager to present their very best young contemporary work. Such attitude follows closely the idea of X Contemporary Miami, which aims to become one of the leading platforms in promoting talented artists of today by offering them more than 28.000 square feet of exhibition space for its debut edition. Among the exhibitors, there will be both established and young art spaces, ready to provide a great artistic experience for both enthusiasts and collectors.

Willoughby Art Advisory

Pamela Willoughby of Willoughby Art Advisory is also on board of X Contemporary, and to prove her established position of a top art advisor, she will bring several special presentations to Miami. One will feature 1980s works by and about Jean-Michel Basquiat, including iconic handmade postcard collages shown for the first time at a fair. Also on view, three new paintings created by English muralist Hush and the works of conversation photographers Cyril Christo and Marie Wilkinson, among others.

The Berlin Collective

Founded by video artist Nicole Cohen, together with Mira O’Brien and Gwendolyn Kerber, The Berlin Collective has been the missing link between artists and their public since 2009. Overtime, it has developed into a proper global artist network, and five of their talents will exhibit at X Contemporary in Miami. Their works range from painting to printmaking and digitally embroidered etchings, photography and sculpture made of a variety of materials and dedicated to many different topics.

Vertu Fine Art

Specializing in art masters' editions and multiples and focusing on the luminaries of Pop, Abstract Expressionism and Optical Art, Vertu Fine Art is a gallery located in Boca Raton, Florida. To Miami, they’re bringing, among others, artist Donald Sultan, and his iconic monochromatic pop flowers. His relevant and sometimes provocative large-scale still lifes deal with the concepts of mass culture, made with the use of industrial materials such as enamel and tar.

The Hollows Art Space

Home to many artists and curators, but also a space where they can work and exhibit, The Hollows Art Space will feature a number of its international talents, including, again, Samantha Robinson, but also Beril Gulcan, Ted Lawson, Talita Zaragoza, Alexandra Kostakis and many others. This way, the space will present an array of disciplines and media within contemporary arts and introduce us to a refreshing arts scene tackling a wide range of topics and built by creatives worldwide.
