Andy Warhol - Flowers

July 26, 2018

Flowers (II.73) is one of only seven monumental-scale paintings from Andy Warhol’s famous Flowers series which the artist showed at sell-out exhibitions in New York in 1964 and in Paris in 1965.

Just like the case was with the rest of the screenprints from this series, Flowers (II.73) was also inspired by a photograph of hibiscus blossoms that appeared in the June 1964 issue of Popular Photography.
