Love. The power of the emotion to re-create the world, to insinuate ourselves into eternity, to charm the death, to submerge with birds and lunacy of flowers. The driving force and absurd instinct at the same time. The bizarre art of the expectancy of the tenseness of the lovers that will meet, the force of the mother hugging her beloved child. The pride in the tearful eye of the soldier that leaves to defend a homeland, the elegance of the surgeon's knife, the transparent deadly disease that sneaks around and rapidly expands and invades our vessels leaving us no choice. There are so many faces and reflections of love. At the same time driving and destroying power, love was the object of admiration and inspiration for creators around the world. Exploring the boundaries of apparition and reality of love through bizarre art, the Sixth Contemporary Cabinet of Curiosities' new show entitled Cabinet Da-End 06, and hosted by Galerie Da-End, will introduce the artwork of Markus Åkesson, César Bardoux, Hans Bellmer, Philippe Bréson, Arthur Bouet, Marion Catusse, Mr Djub, Ellen Ehk, Lucy Glendinning, Apolline Grivelet, Sarah Jérôme, Balata & Jullien, Kun Kang, Magali Lambert, Mirka Lugosi, Mike MacKeldey, Eudes Menichetti, Pierre Molinier, Daido Moriyama, Nieto, Claire Partington, Simon Pasieka, Léopold Rabus, Till Rabus, Felix de Recondo, Benjamin Renoux, Cendrine Rovini, Toshio Saeki, Satoshi Saïkusa, Carolein Smit, Nicolas Tolmachev, Paul Toupet and Edwart Vignot - 30 exceptional artists through the marvelous collection of their bizarre art.
Led by a multifaceted character of love, the authors of this exhibition, revealing themselves, haunt us into their carefully knitted net, giving us the opportunity to experience love in the unique form they give of it. Exploring the immeasurable ground of the hearts, through the poetic or licentious paths, they construct a universe of love followed by vague desire, lust, and dark, bizarre jealousy. That bizarreness reveals the mysterious corridors of the inconsolably burning human soul ready to execute or revenge the betrayal.
The selection of the artwork introduced at the Sixth Contemporary Cabinet of Curiosities is sublime and diverse. Starting with the mysterious black and white photos of the Japanese photographer, over the provocative aquarelle works of Nicolas Tolmachev, to ceramic works of Carolein Smith, they create a complex and ultimately emotional rollercoaster that will, step by step, drag us in and never let us go outside. That endless, serpentine path we walk, followed by the passionate delirium and destructive jealousy, actually embraces the true character of multifaceted love.
Driving emotion or antagonistic desire? The light of the creating power or the dark of the destroying force? These are some of the questions that would be resolved at Sixth Contemporary Cabinet of Curiosities. The show will give you the opportunity to experience and feel the love in a special, bizarre way, through the means of art and its marvellous creators. The group exhibition of these bizarre artworks will be on view at Galerie Da-End in Paris, France. The reception is scheduled for March 19th, from 2pm to 8pm. The show will be on view till April 30th, 2016.
