A truly exiting and unique exhibition will take place at the DE RE Gallery in Los Angeles. With quite a tempting concept and courageous medium, David Drebin will show his works with the title: I love you, I love you, I love you. With this seductive title, the artist aims to introduce the unconventional topic with unusual medium with the LA contemporary art public.
David Drebin was a professional photographer for a long time before he entered the world of art. He became internationally recognized by creating images of sports personalities, celebrities and different entertainers. Over the years, he entered the world of art, using photography as his main medium. His photographs are vivid, epic and dramatic, often cinematic. Drebin’s transformation to an art photographer was followed by his works where he staged a femme fatale against the backdrops of cities such as Paris, New York and Hong Kong. In these works, the panorama of the cities appears as a cinematic setting, with such composition that the viewer is provided with much material for imagination. His photographs have humoristic shades, using topics such as sex, humor, melancholy. Drebin’s works have voyeuristic and psychological characteristics, inducting comfortable nuisance and curiosity. During his artistic career, Drebin participated in numerous art fairs, such as Art Miami, he also exhibited widely in the United States and Europe. Today, he is one of the most successful and highly collected photographs.
The exhibition of the latest works by Drebin at the DE RE Gallery is exceptionally tempting. He continues to deal with his favorite themes, such as love and sex. This time, he uses quite original medium, the neon lights installations. With a glance of erotica, for some maybe even pathetic, these installations illuminate the deepest emotions of a person. The words on the neon lights installations are simple in their structure, yet they are very truthful and intimate, and they are presented in a smoked acrylic box. Love is the most important inspiration for the artists in these works, and viewers will be able to feel the thinnest and the most sensitive parts of the emotive side of personality. These light installations cannot leave anyone indifferent, and every viewer will have the chance to discover something new about her or his own emotions. Since the exhibition will open on February 11th, it perfectly matches with the upcoming Valentine’s Day.
The first solo show of this type of works by Drebin will take place at the DE RE Gallery. Located at the very center of West Hollywood Design District, this gallery supports emerging and mid-career artists from around the world. During the exhibition, the installations will be on sale, with the prices ranging from $17,000 to $30,000. The exhibition entitled I love you, I love you, I love you will be on display from February 11th until March 7th.
