The Boulevard Vincent-Auriol in Paris is on its way to become one of the biggest outdoor museums of street art, with a total of 50 murals planned, engaging 22 internationally-renowned artists. The project continues to develop thanks to the local Galerie Itinerrance and the people of the 13th district in the French capital.
In fact, some of the works are already gracing the building walls, including those by Shepard Fairey, C215, Conor Harrington, Seth, Tristan Eaton, FAILE, Roa, Inti, Invader and D*Face.
That last name, belonging to a legend we all admire and love, now appears twice on the list, as Mr. Dean Stockton just finished another mural ahead of his exhibition at the aforementioned gallery, opening on April 19th.
You could say that nowadays, seeing him is a rare occasion, and I consider myself lucky for being able to catch up with D*Face - his schedule is hectic, to say the least. But indeed, I was at the right place at the right time, so I went to visit the British artist and his crew as they were covering the last piece of the mural at street number 155.
As cool as ever, D*Face talked to me about his brief, but fruitful stay in Paris, the insane journey plan ahead and the great things his Stolen Space Gallery is doing these days in London.
