Upcoming Auctions: Feb 9 – 15
If you’re wondering where are the hottest auctions in the week in front of us, the answer is London! The capital of United Kingdom is the place to be if you’re interested in purchasing fantastic art by some of the world’s best contemporary artists. Starting with Tuesday, February 10th, London’s auction house Sotheby’s will be hosting two auctions. First one, starting on Tuesday, called Contemporary Art Evening Auction will try to sell 77 art pieces, one of those a Fernandez Arman sculpture entitled Dosilasolfamirédo deuxième gamme (€80,274 – 107,032) as well as auction highlights, Enrico Castellani painting entitled Dittico bianco (€1,070,320 – 1,605,480), and Francis Bacon’s Two studies for self-portrait (€17,392,700 - 24,082,200). The next day, February 11th, buyers will get the opportunity to buy artworks by Post-War innovators through to a new generation of artists working today. Contemporary Art Day Auction will be presenting pieces like Ai Weiwei’s Kui Hua Zi (Sunflower Seeds), Darren Almond’s Fullmoon Gairloch, Flowers by Donald Baechler, Banksy’s auction hit Untitled (Fuck the Police) and Clemente’s painting Roses Francesco. Thursday is reserved for Christie’s Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction with artworks on view like Karel Appel’s Dier (Animal). Finally, Friday, February 13th is a day for a fantastic Contemporary Art Day at Phillips’ with pieces like Figure of Man and Relief by Stephan Balkenhol.
