Four more auctions of contemporary art are ahead of us next week, and all four will take place in Paris. There will be a total of 719 lots auctioned in the capital of France, with the estimated average lot value of $18,206 and total value estimated between $5.4 million and $7.44 million. First, on Monday, June 22, Contemporary Art auction will occur at Millon & Associes Paris. Two days after that, on Wednesday, June 24, Tajan Paris will host Contemporary Art auction, and on June 25 and 26, two sessions of contemporary art sale will be held at Cornette de Saint Cyr Paris: Contemporary Art I on June 25 and Contemporary Art II on June 26.
On Monday, June 22 at 2 PM, at Millon & Associes auction house at Millon Drouot (19 rue Grange Batelière - 75009 Paris), Contemporary art auction (Art Contemporain) will take place. Total of 261 lots will be put on sale, created by many famous artists - Christo, Alexander Calder, Chu Teh-Chun, Sam Francis, Tom Wesselmann, André Lanskoy, Sol Lewitt, Keith Haring, Erro, Arman, Andy Warhol, to name a few. The estimated average lot value will be $7,268, and the highest estimated value will have Christo's The Pont Neuf Wrapped from 1976 ($90,856 - $113,570).
On Wednesday, June 24 at 7 PM, at Tajan auction house in Paris (Espace Tajan, 37 rue des Mathurins 75008 Paris), another this week's Contemporary Art auction will happen. Only 43 lots will be put on sale, with the average estimated lot value of $46,388 (the highest average estimated value this week, by far). Many French and international artists will be represented, with Agustin Cárdenas, Lucio Fontana, Victor Vasarely, Miquel Barceló, Fredrik Vaerslev, Ugo Rondinone and Shirin Neshat among them.
Yet another contemporary art auction will happen in Paris on Thursday, June 25 at 2:30 PM, at Cornette de Saint Cyr auction house (Hôtel Des Ventes Cornette De Saint Cyr - 6, Avenue Hoche, Paris VIIIÈme). It will be the first session of the auction, or Contemporary Art I (Art Contemporain I), that will be followed with Contemporary Art II sale on the next day. Total of 115 lots will be auctioned, with the estimated value at $1,653,811 - $2,356,283, or with estimated average lot value of $17,435. Amongst others, at Cornette de Saint Cyr will be auctioned works by Chu Teh-Chun, Martin Barre, Gerhard Richter, Duan Jianyu, Sam Francis, JonOne, Karel Appel, SEEN, Mr. Brainwash, Hans Hartung and Gerard Schlosser. The highest priced lot will be Chu Teh-Chun's Composition from 1973, which is estimated at $170,355 - $227,140.
Finally, on Friday, June 26 at 2:30 PM, Contemporary Art II auction will take place at Cornette de Saint Cyr in Paris. This will be the auction with the lowest estimated average lot value this week with $1,734 - total of 300 lots are estimated at $424,403 - $616,289. Some of the lesser known names will be presented at Cornette de Saint Cyr - Hiro Ando, Richard Orlinski, Richard Aujard, Serge III, CRASH, Ida Karskaya, Lucio Fanti, Winshluss, Miss.Tic, Jesse Chehak and Frederic Bruly Bouabre are amongst them.
