Hello, urban and contemporary auctions fans! Six more auctions are ahead of us in next seven days: four in Europe, one in New York and one in Hong Kong. These six estimates will bring total of 1047 lots for sale, with total estimated value set at $20,87 million - $29.08 million. First, on Tuesday, June 9, at Pandolfini in Florence, Italy will be held a Modern And Contemporary Art auction. Tomorrow, on Wednesday, June 10, there will be two auctions - Contemporary Curated at Sotheby's New York and Contemporary Art auction, Part I at Dorotheum, Vienna. On Thursday, June 11, Part II of Contemporary Art auction will take place at Dorotheum, and in Hong Kong there will be Boundless: Contemporary Art auction at Sotheby's. Finally, on Saturday, June 13, an Art Urbain – Graffiti et Street Art auction will take place at Galartis auction house in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Total of 121 artworks by modern and contemporary artist will be auctioned at Pandolfini auction house in Florence (Palazzo Ramirez - Montalvo, Borgo degli Albizi 26, Florence, Italy). The auction named Modern And Contemporary Art will feature many works by Modern Itallian, but also many Contemporary artists - both Italian and international, such as Fernandez Arman, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Piero Gilardi, Victor Vasarely, Agostino Bonalumi, Sebastian Matta, Alberto Biasi, and others. The estimated average lot value will be $11,882, and the auction starts on June 9 at 3:30 PM.
Sotheby's Contemporary Curated will take place on June 10 in New York, and the auction will be split in two sessions - first at 10 AM (lots 1 - 131) and second at 2 PM (lots 201 - 391). This will be a good oportunity for buying some reasonably priced artworks from famous artists of the post-war and contemporary periods. The auction will feature works by Yves Klein, Louise Nevelson, Deborah Butterfield, Mark Grotjahn, Jean Dubuffet, and many more.
Many famous European contemporary artist will be presented at Contemporary Art auction at Dorotheum auction house in Vienna. Part I of the auction, that will start on Wednesday, June 10 at 6 PM, will put on sale works by Lucio Fontana, Enrico Castellani, Gerhard Richter, Günther Förg, but also by Cy Twombly, Robert Longo and Christian Rosa, amongst others. Total of 98 lots are estimated at $8,058,581 - $11,202,745, or average $98,272 per lot.
Part II of Contemporary Art auction at Dorotheum Vienna will take place on Thursday, June 11 at 2 PM, It will bring for sale works by Heinz Mack, Otto Piene, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Alex Katz, Massimo Vitali, Martin Kippenberger, Sol LeWitt, Roy Lichtenstein, Hans Hartung and Sam Francis, to name a few, as 263 lots will be auctioned, with an average estimated value of $16,054. Total value of this auction is estimated at $3,570,287 - $4,873,897.
Boundless: Contemporary Art that will take place at Sotheby's Hong Kong on Thursday, June 11, at 6:30 PM (Hong Kong time), will be a mix of Eastern and Western contemporary works, covering various range of styles and genres, as well as different countries. From Zao Wou-Ki, Zhan Wang, Chu Teh-Chun, Yayoi Kusama and Liu Wei, to Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Marc Quinn and Lucio Fontana - a plenty of enjoyment for contemporary art collectors. Total of 108 lots are estimated at $3,524,336 - $4,875,028, or average $38,886 per lot.
Finally, the last, sixth auction that we will follow next week will be Urban Art: Grafitti and Street Art auction at Galartis auction house in Lausanne - Crissier Switzerland (Art Urbain: Graffiti Et Street Art). This auction will start on Saturday, June 13 at 5 PM, and it will be a feast for urban art collectors. The star of this auction will be Banksy's Paparazzi Rats, and it will feature crème de la crème of street artists: Vhils, JR, KAWS, QUIK, ALEXONE, Shepard Fairey, JonOne, and many, many more.
