Welcome to Widewalls Podcast #3, the third instalment of our new interview series that allows you to listen in on some conversations with various people from the art world including artists, curators, photographers, gallerists and directors. If you have not listened in before, then catch up with Widewalls Podcast #1: Interview with Olly Walker and Widewalls Podcast #2: Artez and then grab a pot of tea and settle down for our third guest. For Widewalls Podcast #3 we had the pleasure of speaking to the charming Yasha Young, Curator and Director at Urban Nation in Berlin who discusses how her punk beginnings resulted in the opening of her own Strychnin Gallery along with the development of Yasha Young Projects and reveals someone often thinking outside of the normal art box with projects such as working with a British porcelain manufacturer and creating a fantastic tea party while also donating time to serious issues such as working with the Keep A Breast Foundation. You can also hear Yasha discuss various Urban Nation projects such as Project M and the One Wall project that included a visit from Shepard Fairey to produce a mural, along with a mention of the current Cut It Out! exhibition and her role as curator for events such as POW! WOW! Hawaii.
So, put your feet up, pour a cup of tea and enjoy our chat with Yasha Young and stay tuned for further adventures in sound with the Widewalls Podcast series.
