Passionate about art, frequent visitor of exhibitions, Widewalls photography specialist and Editor-in-Chief.

If the month of March was any indicator of how exciting Spring – and the rest of 2017 – will be regarding art exhibitions, events and festivals, we are in for one memorable season. Not that the Winter didn’t bring any remarkable shows, but we can all probably agree that Spring is the one which brings out that special creative energy in all of us, especially all the talented artists out there. What’s for sure is that our schedules are filled with fairs, exhibitions, projects and initiatives, and we couldn’t be happier to share them with our audience on a daily basis. Looking at the month behind us, the galleries in our ever-expanding gallery network surely earned their spot on our list below, as they offer a little something for everyone, and their shows are still on view for you to see and enjoy!

Scroll down to check out your favorite galleries of March 2017.

Urban Spree - Berlin's Gem

One of the most important art venues of the German capital, Urban Spree Galerie never fails to surprise us with incredible shows and initiatives. On view through April 22nd is the solo show of KID CASH, whom we also had the pleasure of interviewing regarding his new works on view, as well as wall painting and wood-cutting at the gallery. If you’re around Berlin, make sure you stop by and check it out!

Imitate Modern - Urban Contemporary Art Gallery with a Difference

If you stop by Imitate Modern in London as we speak, you’ll catch Registered Trademarks, an interesting and thought-provoking show by the young Luc Waring. That the gallery surely is never boring shows the upcoming exhibition titled David Bowie Unseen which already catches our attention, but clears every doubt on whether we should go visit it through the fact it will show photographs by British photographer Tony McGee. Stay tuned for more info!

30works Galerie - With a Second Space in Cologne

On March 18th, 30works Galerie opened their second exhibition space in the city of Cologne, located in the trendy Belgian Quarter in the center. These new rooms aim to present Pop and Urban Art in new orientations and contexts, while the “old” space will continue the good work of great shows, such as the one by Thomas Baumgärtel dealing with the concept and meaning of bridges in today’s society. Don’t miss it!

GraffitiStreet - Urbanize Your World

Avid collectors for many years, the people behind GraffitiStreet wanted to be more involved with the exciting scene of graffiti and street art. Today, they own a great online store for buying and selling artwork, including one by Banksy, D*Face, EINE, FAILE, Os Gemeos, Shepard Fairey and Space Invader. Let’s not forget their charitable urban art auctions held on the streets of London, aiming to help the homeless.

Kumi Contemporary - Dedicated to Japanese Art

With a strong love of the Japanese art, its history and creatives, Kumi Contemporary is a London-based online platform where one can buy an array of artwork coming from the country. For instance, just recently, they have released the Takashi Murakami prints from the celebrated 727 series, which came shortly after the release of a full set of Takashi Murakami’s superb Flowers Blooming in This World and the Land of Nirvana, 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5, revealed in February.

Galerie Openspace - The Highlight of the Paris Urban Art Scene

Just before heading to Urban Art Fair in Paris, where they will present artists like Jan Kaláb, SatONE and Mode2, Galerie Openspace closes the very-well visited show by Augustine Kofie, who will also jin the roster for the French capital. His Build From Memory exhibition marked his fourth encounter with the gallery, which also revealed the artist will soon announce his foray into the field of sculpture. We can’t help but be excited!
