Acquired directly from the artist through Yoshihara Jiro and Yamamoto Noriko in 1959; The Collection of the late Phillipe Mutrux*; ; *Architect and US military officer Phillipe Guillaume Mutrux purchased the property directly from the Gutai group at the nascence of the movement's emergence into the international art scene. Advised by his close friend and artist Yamamoto Noriko, Mutrux purchased works by Shimamoto Shozo, Tanaka Atsuko, Motonaga Sadama, and Shiraga Kazuo during Noriko's trip to Osaka in 1959.
