New Addition to the Art Market - Ferran Josa Shares the Story Behind Pigment Gallery

October 29, 2016
Deeply invested in contemporary art, Widewalls magazine aims to provide a unique experience for its readers in form of in-depth and quality journalism.

Barcelona’s Pigment Gallery is a young one; they have only been around since January 2016. To see them at an event as big as Cologne’s ART.FAIR, at booth G02, only ten months after their foundation is great, because even though they are a young space, the force behind it all is an established figure on the Spanish contemporary art scene and beyond. This is why we had a great pleasure of talking to Director Ferran Josa, whose twenty-year experience in the business made Pigment Gallery’s presentation at the fair one of the most intriguing ones this year. As part of a vibrant group show on display, there were works by seven artists, including Alejandro Quincoces, Bruno Ollé, Luis Feo Hugo Alonso, Lita Cabellut, Marcelo Fuentes, Marta Moreu, Ramon Enrich and Lidia Masllorens, whose mesmerizing portraiture stole the highlight of the booth.

Our Ana Bambic Kostov talked to Pigment Gallery’s Ferran Josa about the complex process behind this bleached piece by Lidia Masllorens, as well as the exhibition on view.
