Gallery Molly Krom is a contemporary art gallery with a focus on works on paper. The door of the gallery opened in August 2013. Molly Krom represents artists from the United States, Europe and South America. We focus primarily (but not exclusively) on work on paper. The aesthetic direction of the gallery best reflects the traditions of American and European Modernism as seen in both young and mid career artists working with the gallery. To state that gallery’s mission is to seek out artists whose work resonates with our aesthetic vision and to collaborate with them in bringing this vision to life, to create exhibitions that convey a complex and intricate affair between the space, work, artists, and audience, is to state nothing new. In fact, “newness” is not on the list of our desires or ambitions. Our platform is best described as a hybrid of an old populist slogan “Art belongs to people” and an elitist (in its elusive clarity) statement by Ad Reinhardt “Art is art. Everything else is everything else.”
