Inaugurated by Magda Danysz in June 2009 first on the Bund, the “MD Gallery” expands on March 2012 and moves to a 1000m² new space in the North of the Bund, in the Yangpu  district. The gallery is set to become the largest ground floor gallery in Shanghai and offers an exceptional exhibition space to artists. She now represents one of the most famous places of the city’s cultural life and is distinguished by a genuine desire to produce large-scale exhibitions.

The gallery in Shanghai is aimed at being an art space featuring fresh and amazing shows each part of a program showing young emerging as well as confirmed Chinese and international artists and making regular focus on new media or new art forms.  One can discover here famous street art figures like JR and JonOne, Chinese artists such as Maleonn, Yang Yongliang or Zhang Dali and in addition, the young Portuguese artist Vhils.

As an active art place the gallery nurtures projects focusing on future talents making the gallery an efficient platform for promoting contemporary art and exchanges within the vibrant Shanghai art scene.
