Upcoming Auctions: July 6 - 12

July 5, 2015

The season of auctions is slowly going on a vacation, until autumn comes. We’ve had that big frenzy about contemporary art sales at the biggest auction houses in the world last week, and now the time is for somewhat lesser-known auction houses and lesser-know artists. Hence, the average lot value at all of these auctions will be much lower than we’ve used to expect.

We have picked four auctions of contemporary art for you in the next seven days. First, on July 7, Tajan auction house in Paris will host a Modern Art Sale, but many artworks by contemporary artists will be auctioned as well. Then, on Wednesday, July 8, Trending Up: Super Contemporary Romanian Artists auction will take place at Artmark auction house in Bucharest, Romania. On Saturday, July 11, SBI Art Auction in Tokyo, Japan, will host a Modern and Contemporary Art auction, and on Sunday, July 12, McTear’s auction house in Glasgow, Scotland, will organize The Scottish Contemporary Art Auction. Total of 837 lots in these four auctions have their value estimated at $1.97 – $2.94 million – less than the average lot value at Christie’s and Sotheby’s last week, but, hey! Who says art needs to be expensive? These artworks that we are going to present to you certainly proves different.
