Upcoming Auctions: Nov 17 – 23

The week in front of us is maybe not as dynamic and busy as the one before, but the auctions happening from November 17th present us with some outstanding work in the field of contemporary and urban art. Two major auctions are hosted by Sotheby’s in London on November 19, as well as another one in London but at Phillips auction house, starting the day before. As usual, the works on auctions are quite versatile and for every taste and pocket. Starting with Tracey Emin’s HRH, the auction house Boningtons Auctioneers estimated the price with €509-764. On sale on Sotheby’s will be Christmas Day Lunch by Lucian Freud (est. €8,916 – 12,738) and Bridget Riley’s Violet Crossing Turquoise (est. €31,845 – 44,583), while the auction at Phillips offers to its buyers the impressive collection of photographs – David LaChapelle’s Deluge (€38,214 – 50,952), Robert Mapplethorpe’s 1983 Self Portrait (€38,214 – 50,952), as well as Big Nude XI: Verina, Nice by Helmut Newton (€15,285 – 22,928).
