Welcoming the Spectacular 3rd Edition Urban Art Fair in Paris
When it comes to the gathering and the display of all the different trends within urban art today, Urban Art Fair in Paris (and since last year, New York) stands as the premier event.
This April, UAF returns after two marvelous editions to once again showcase the very best that today’s most exciting contemporary art movement has to offer. Attracting some 20,000 art lovers, collectors and professionals every year, the fair offers artworks by more than 200 renowned artists.
With the question: Why live in the city?, Urban Art Fair sheds light on the urban in urban art, offering a panorama of quality within an eclectic line-up.
Participating Galleries and Artists
The Urban Art Fair will bring together some 30 French and international galleries, including eleven new participants.
Among them, there is ADDA & TAXIE from France, Galartis from Switzerland, Galerie Martine Ehmer from Belgium, The Garage Amsterdam and Under the Radar from the UK.
When it comes to returning galleries, we’ll be pleased to encounter Pretty Portal from Düsseldorf, who will bring Pixelpancho among others, Vroom & Varossieau from The Netherlands, the local Galerie Mathgoth, with artworks by Herakut, Jace and Fintan Magee, and David Pluskwa Art Contemporain, also a major player on the French urban art scene.
Other highlights include Galerie Brugier-Rigail, Galerie Openspace, Joël Knafo Art, Le Grand Jeu, Urban Spree Galerie and Galerie Géraldine Zberro.

What Not to Miss?
As usual, Urban Art Fair has prepared a dynamic program of book-signings, installations and performances taking place during all three days of the fair. What could be considered different from the previous two editions, however, is the Solo/Duo shows that the organizers will favor in 2018. Thanks to a reshaped general scenography, a relatively small but carefully selected number of artists will now be put in the spotlight.
The fair will also join forces with Urban Films Festival, a perfect place to discover films related to the urban atmosphere. As we’d have guessed, this year the focus will be on films by graffiti and street artists, as a result of a competition held until March 9th.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Graffiti Art Magazine, there will also be an exclusive party at the Renaissance Paris Rèpublique Hotel, welcoming the press, the VIPs, the exhibitors and the artists, taking place on April 14th. Like in previous editions of UAF, Spray Collection will also present their artworks once again.
Last but not least, the Universal Museum of Art (UMA) will present an exclusive exhibition in virtual reality dedicated to urban art, curated by UAF’s own Yannick Boesso. A Walk Into Street Art will offer a unique opportunity to discover iconic walls by the likes of Banksy, JR, Shepard Fairey, Jef Aérosol, Ernest Pignon-Ernest and many others. Furthermore, within the exhibition, a chapter dedicated to Subway art finds its place, thanks to Henry Chalfant’s iconic photographs (and book).
UMA will present the exhibition in VR at UAF’s Booth E8.
