Wine in Stattbad

  • myFINBEC
October 8, 2014
Sanja Lazic was born in 1990 in Belgrade, Serbia. Her interest in art comes from a very early age and although she didn’t have the talent to pursue it professionally, she enjoys every day working and writing about it. Her favorite urban artists are Interesni Kazki, Saner and Phlegm.

In August we presented you the interesting story of combining art and wine. It was a project called myFINBEC, initiated and organized by Yvo Mathier, proprietor of Switzerland-based winery Cave Fin Bec who besides being an expert in wine seems to be an art enthusiast as well. The idea behind the project founded in 2013 was to bring these two passions together – some of the world’s biggest street art names were called to participate in this unique event where they would contribute by painting eight labels on 672 stacked wood wine crates (84 crates for each painting). This way, buyers got the chance to have a unique piece of art and amazing wine all in one. This year’s myFINBEC 2014 welcomed artists Vhils, Herakut, C215 and Etam Cru whose works on the product were afterwards exhibited at several galleries as a part of myFINBEC European tour.

Mixing Art and Pleasure

These eight labels are printed as wine labels for Cave Fin Bec’s special limited edition of organic wine. Then each of the eight paintings are taken apart case by case, and these cases are filled with six bottles of wine. When all of this is over, each case of wine is made available to anywhere in the world that wine can be legally shipped. This way, buyers get a unique chance to become owners of the original works of these great artists without having to spend a lot of money, as they would initially do, and on top of that, have a glass or two of an amazing wine.

European Tour Continuing

This year’s novelty is myFINBEC’s Wine European Tour consisted of series of four day pop-up shows that are held in street galleries. Eight murals, each measuring over 3 meters high and 2 meters wide will be on display. Attendees of the Art + Wine show are able to purchase sections of the original art in the form of wood wine cases. These wood cases are later filled with six bottles of Cave Fin Bec’s organic red and white wine. Also available at the art show are limited edition signed art prints of each painting. The tour started at Ruttkowski68 Gallery in Cologne and this week it’s continuing at Stattdab Berlin. Presented by Open Walls Gallery, the four day show starts October 8 lasting until October 11, 2014. Don’t miss your chance to taste the amazing Cave Fin Bec’s organic wines and at the same time enjoy wonderful pieces of Vhils, C215, Etam Cru and Herakut displayed at the show and maybe become the owner of these beautiful pieces!
